Notice there is no parking at the Hall or on local streets except for buggies in the hall! Even this may be tight - so fold if possible. We are very busy at the moment so general only one session per week - but we are flexible to needs.
Activities: see photos.
Come and play with your child(ren) together with other mums, dads, carers, grandparents, babysitters, etc. You as the adult are responsible for your child in terms of safety, performance, etc. - so please stay nearby. We aim to provide a welcoming team and environment where you can learn through play with your child and other families; we are here to help. We have a variety of play areas:
Main Hall: play house, climbing frame, push along/ride on a great toy, table activities including puzzles, playdough etc. Small Hall: quieter, with baby gyms, chairs, soft toys, flooring, toys, cars, trains and books.
Paint room: space to be creative, with overalls. Outdoor play areas: tarmac for scooters, trikes & cars; our new covered areas for quieter play in all weathers; and our big soft safety-surfaced area for climbing, slides, rockers, etc surrounding playhouse by Pre-school & garden planters.
Refreshments time: adults get children to sit at tables for healthy snacks, biscuits, milk/ water/squash and Fair Trade tea and coffee for adults.
Near the end we have a clean-up time: all help, and ends with a song & story time (with instruments, puppets and ledgers). Click for some popular song words.
From time to time we have college students with us on placement and students undertaking work experience; they will have West Herts Tops and/or nametags and are eager to help you and learn from you - they play with the children, but are not allowed to look after them.
We can help with Parenting, the English language, healthy eating advice and training sessions in partnership with our local children's centre . Ask us if they might be able to provide any input if you need, or just want to talk things through.
